A New Name, A New Feel, and New Outreach

Through the process of expanding and increasing our outreach, I want to make sure that we keep and nurture our roots, while also growing to help more authors. This process will help us have greater outreach for our members beyond Texas.

Thus, for Texas authors members, we will keep to the original logo on their bio/membership page as we currently are doing. Texas Author members will continue to have more benefits and outreach programs specific to Texas. At the same time, they will have more opportunities over time to have outreach to other countries, events, and programs.

Over the past eight years, I have worked to build an all-encompassing organization that helps authors market their books. I have succeeded on many levels. However, I am flat- out exhausted. I cannot keep up this creative and busy pace anymore. Therefore, I have created an Advisory Board to work with the new changes in the organization.

International Authors Marketing Guild, LLC (IAMG) is a for-profit organization. As with any corporation, a strong and active board is needed to help us grow in a solid and lasting way. This will not be the typical Board of Directors. Instead, it will be an Advisory Board that will be open to any author who wants to invest time and energy in the organization’s overall success.

To be on this board, you must meet one of four qualifications:

  1. Purchase a seat on the board for $2,500

  2. Volunteer at least 50 hours of your time per calendar year.

  3. Bring in 30 new members to the organization each year.

  4. A combination of all three of the above.

Additional requirements are that you attend virtual board meetings quarterly (4 times a year). You will be available for email communications as needed for general questions or business about the organization. And your willingness to step up and take responsibility for programs or events as needed is a must. Failure to meet any of the above requirements will result in loss of stock ownership and board position.

In exchange for having a seat on the Advisory Board, you, of course, will receive extra promotion for yourself and your books throughout the year. Promotion may come in the form of website placement, extra social media postings, etc. You will also receive voting stock at the rate of $2,500 no matter which of the four options you select. The Advisory Board position will be valid for only one (1) calendar year. The voting shares of stock will remain valid for the life of the organization.

In-person stockholders’ meetings will be held at the annual Authors Marketing Events. Date and time of each meeting will be determined 30 days before each meeting.
